Our Camp Counselors
Matt Mulholland (Camp Director & Founder of Indy Stem Camps)
In addition to being the founder and president of Indy Stem Camps, Matt has taught physics at Zionsville High School since 1999. During this time Matt’s interest in STEM has developed through his role as the sponsor of the ZCHS VEX Robotics Clubs, Astronomy Club, and the 3-D printing club. Matt lives in Zionsville with his wife Jody and daughters Madeline (20) and Olivia (18), both of whom are Indy Stem Camps counselors and former campers.
A.J. Bowman (Assistant Camp Director)
AJ is a recent graduate of Butler University, where he earned his degree in Music Education. He has been with Indy STEM Camps for 8 years, beginning as an assistant counselor his sophomore year of high school. Since that time, he has led camps as well as pioneered new games and curriculums at all levels. He intends to continue assisting with the growth and development of Indy STEM Camps as he begins his own teaching career in the Indianapolis area.
Brooke Ackerman (Lead Counselor)
Brooke is a Senior at Ball State University studying elementary education and has been a counselor since 2019. In addition to being an excellent Minecraft gamer, Brooke is outstanding at working with our younger campers who benefit from her patient approach and calming demeanor.
Sharada Subramaniam (Lead Counselor)
Sharada was camper during the very first year that we hosted Minecraft Camps. She has been a counselor for 6 years which makes her one of our most knowledgeable and experienced counselors. Additionally, Sharada has helped design and build many of the worlds we play at our camps. Sharada is currently a sophomore at South Alabama University studying Mechanical Engineering.
Maddy Mulholland (Lead Counselor)
Maddy was 9 years old when she first asked her dad (Matt) to host and lead a Minecraft Camp. This makes Maddy the very first camper and also one of our most experienced counselors as she has been helping brainstorm ideas about for Minecraft Camps for the last 10 years. Now, as a 20 year-old sophomore at Indiana University majoring in Nursing, Maddy loves getting to know campers on a one-on-one basis as she leads numerous camps each summer.
Olivia Ackerman (Social Media Director)
Olivia has been a counselor for Indy Stem Camps since she was a sophomore in high school. Now, as a junior at Indiana University studying Digital Marketing, Olivia oversees digital marketing and manages social media for Indy Stem Camps.
Olivia Mulholland (Co-Lead Counselor)
Olivia was one of our first campers way back in 2012 and has been a counselor all through her high school career. She recently graduated from Zionsville High School and will be headed to Hanover College in the fall where she will be studying Engineering.
Robert Quigley (Co-Lead Counselor)
Robert is currently a sophomore at Purdue University studying filmmaking. Robert is extremely creative and brings that creativity to each and every camp at which he serves as a counselor. Robert has a quirky sense of humor that campers just love. You’ll often find Robert playing in-game with campers in a manner that enhances the overall camp experience.
Drew Kachur (Co-Lead Counselor)
Drew began working at Indy Stem Camps in 2022 and graduated from Zionsville High School in 2023. Drew will be attending Purdue University in the fall where he will be studying Mechanical Engineering.
Skyler Cole (Co-Lead Counselor)
Skyler began working for Indy Stem Camps in 2022 and is a 2023 graduate of Zionsville High School. Skyler will be attending Colorado School of Mines in the fall where he will be studying Physics and Engineering.
Katie Scachetti (Asst. Counselor)

As a Junior at Hamilton Southeastern High School, Katie has developed into one of our most imaginative counselors who knows more about Minecraft than just about anyone. Katie’s claim to fame is that she has created in-game footage of herself finding every single badge in the “World of Humanities” map.
